Pool"...the only thing bad about Sueño del Mar is it makes you wonder why you don't move to Costa Rica and open a B and B....we will see you AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN."

~ Steve and Tulip

"It's tempting to stay here for our full two-week honeymoon and not move from the swimming pool and hammocks - it's such a beautiful house. But we are forcing ourselves on to look at some other bits of Costa Rica! Thank you for a wonderful few days - PERFECT!!"

~ Emma and Andy (Newlyweds from England)

"This has to be one of the greatest places anyone could wish for on a Honeymoon. The rooms were inviting, the scenery was romantic, and everyone stopped at nothing to make us feel welcome. The breakfast served daily was a great way to start out our days. Muchas Gracias and see you on our next trip to Costa Rica!"

~ Tom and Whitney (Honeymooners)

Umbrella"Words cannot begin to express this experience!!! As we planned our elopement via the internet/email, we were a little concerned ...."site unseen" and all....But from the minute we got here, we knew we'd chosen the best. The staff made our most special wedding day PERFECT....the flowers, the beach altar, the sunset, the guests!....all stresslessly supplied by Sueño del Mar (we were even relaxed enough to get in a run along the beach two hours before the event). Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for an excellent Beginning as we journey into married life....This place will remain in our hearts!"

~ Cecil and John (Bride and Groom)

Wedding Party"Visiting Sueño del Mar is like dropping in on relatives that are delighted to see you at their door. Comfort, genuine attention and delicious morning cuisine are as delightful as the sweet beach just out front. Don't forget to visit the beach at night for myriad stars and some magical phosphorescence. We loved the horseback riding in the countryside. Thank you Paul, Nancy, Kim and staff and guests for a magical few days in paradise."

Quotes from Travel Books

"...this warm, colorful Bed & Breakfast on tranquil Playa Langosta is one of the greatest, small hotels in Costa Rica. Pool, wonderful breakfasts."

~ Fodor’s Exploring Costa Rica

"This place is such a gem I was hesitant to let the secret out — now it’s nearly impossible to get a room. Located at the south end of Tamarindo Beach on Punta Langosta, the hotel features rooms that are a bit small. But 4 poster beds made from driftwood, African dolls on the windowsills, Kokopeli candleholders, and open-air showers with sculpted angelfish, hand-painted tiles, and lush tropical plants. Fabrics are from Bali and Guatemala. Somehow, this all works well together, and the requisite hammocks nestled under shade trees right on the beach add the crowning touch.Palm Trees

The separate small casita has its own kitchen, veranda, and sleeping loft, while the suite is a spacious second-floor room, with wraparound screened in windows, a delightful open-air bathtub and shower, and an ocean view. The beach right out front is a bit rocky and rough but does reveal some nice, quiet tidal pools at low tide; it’s one of the better sunset-viewing spots in Costa Rica.

Breakfasts are huge and creative and have earned local renown."

~ Frommer’s Costa Rica, on Sueño del Mar

* FODOR'S CHOICE *
"... this sweet little Mexican-style Bed & Breakfast has Balinese outdoor showers, fantastic breakfasts, charming gardens, and a perfect beach. Rooms are few, so the feeling is intimate... Rent the whole place for a family reunion or a gathering of friends."

     (and on page 126):
"Gather a group of friends and take over this dream of a B&B for a week — you’ll love every minute. The complex has swinging hammocks, lovely gardens, a pool, and is adorned through out with hand-painted frescoes and colorful antique tiles. The adobe style buildings contain three double rooms with air condition, overhead fans, and Balinese-style showers open to the sky. A casita with its own kitchen and veranda sleeps four. Upstairs a matrimonial suite offers even greater privacy. Gourmet breakfast is served in the community room, where 3 course dinners are offered a few times a week."

~ Costa Rica Fodor’s

" …I love Sueño del Mar B&B, a truly exquisite Spanish colonial posada-style house with rooms cascading down a shaded alcove to a small landscaped garden that opens onto the beach. Each is cool and shaded, with rough hewn timber, white-washed stone walls, terra-cotta tile floors, screened arched windows with shutters, and tasteful fabric adding to the warm, homey feel. There’s a sensuous serenity to the place. "
